EARLY YEARS PROJECT #4: PRAXIS MAKES PERFECT
An Incubating Project for Young Artists
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre

Today - 28 July 2019 / Main Gallery, 7th floor

The 4th Early Years Project Exhibition "Praxis Makes Perfect" highlights the praxis of art as the catalyst of dialogues and human interaction, featuring projects by eight selected artists. Here are some of the highlights :

"How do you deal with memories?"

In Nattamon Pramsumran’s "PART", a reproduction of a memory-filled house invites the audience to explore how we deal with the remainder when the identity and memory of our loved ones have been snatched away.

“Something new always replaces something.”

Kornthanat Pipat explores the issue of urban metamorphosis through photography in "Capital Memorial", featuring images of Bangkok’s infrastructure as a record of transformation and a means to explore hidden meanings.

"The remains of memories can only be displayed here because they are dead."

In "I will always think of you fondly", Tewprai Bualoy presents electronic parts as "the cadavers of memories" to remind us that nothing lasts, not even memories.

"Here for a haircut?"

Transforming the gallery into a barber, Worawut Changthong challenges the boundary between profession and art. In "Day Barber Shop", Worawut contends that giving a haircut is nothing short of creating a sculpture.
