The aim for the workshop is totrace the outlines of the two cities, Yangon and Phnom Penh imagining and
projecting their future
through the eyes of an artist and architect. In the workshop, maps will be keys to
discuss overlapping views both geographically
and artistically. There will be two parts of the workshop, the
first part is a presentation opening to the public by Myanmar Artist,
Ko Latt and Cambodian Architect, Pen
Sereypagnato discuss themes in the city such as dominating culture, ethnic complexity,
religion and linguistic
heritages, and the second part is to map the cities through physical material such as writing, photos, prints,
newspaper, or even national dresses forthe audience to compose the two cities based on their perceptions and
experiences.
As each city has been under ongoing urban development, it manifests both potential transition
and vulnerability, the workshop
addresses the point where the audience, the architect and the artists could
exchange, make dialogue, compare, and learn from.
