A Possible Island? and The Abramovic Method
18 October - 11 November 2018 / Main Gallery, 8th Floor As part of Bangkok Art Biennale 2018, 'A Possible Island' is a durational performance by eight artists selected by Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI). The Abramovic Method is an activity that joins people in a communal experience to connect with oneself and with others. In the quiet non-hierarchical space, the audience is invited to participate in activities as well as to observe others as they participate. Bangkok Art Biennale 19 October 2018 - 3 February 2019 / Main Gallery 7th - 8th Floors, Hall 5th, 1st Floor and Open Space of BACC Under the title "Beyond Bliss", 26 contemporary artists will be featured at BACC, including Choi Jeon Hwa (South Korea), known for his outstanding colorful art made of everyday objects and Torlarp Larpjaroensook (Thailand), who aims to connect himself and the audience with their memories, using objects with past stories in his collage sculpture. EARLY YEARS PROJECT #3: COEVAL 19 October 2018 - 3 February 2019 / Main Gallery, 9th Seven qualified artists received fundings to create and present their works as well as processes at BACC. In addition, the artists will take part in Critic Session and Mentoring Aid to further develop their artworks. Following the project’s conclusion, the judge will select two outstanding artists, based on their projects and presentations, as the recipients of Mobility Funding and Artist Residency scholarship. 8 - 9 December 2018 Bangkok Art and Culture Centre joins hand with Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) in the collaborative project, inviting the eco-friendly Taiwanese artist Fang-Yi Yang (Fay) to collaborate with King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), 3C Project and Bangmod Creative Canal Community Enterprise in creating environmental awareness through the art installation in the 3rd Bangmod Festival.
