The 9th White Elephant Art Award Exhibition themed 'The Land of Smiles' will bring together realistic and figurative art pieces to celebrate Thailand’s tranquility and natural wealth, as well as the good spirit, kindness, and generosity of Thai people. Throughout the history of Thailand, the country’s independence has been safely guarded for future generations by a long line of Thai ancestors. Guided by positivity, Thai people lead a simple, peaceful, and friendly life, as reflected in the radiant sincere smiles on their faces. The exhibition comprises paintings, sculptures, prints, and mixed media of all techniques and materials to showcases these unique characteristics of Thailand.

Glass Plate Negatives: Stories That Transcend Time Exhibition
The National Archives of Thailand, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited and The Photographic Art Foundation

This exhibition is a curation of glass plate photos selected by the National Archives for this year, and a collaboration between The National Archives of Thailand, Thai Beverage PLC, and The Photographic Art Foundation.

The exhibition traces the time when Siam was transitioning into a unique era of "East meets West" cultural fusion. Follow the steps of King Rama V and members of the royal family as they visited different provinces in a personal and relaxing manner. The rich historic collection does not only reflect the way of life during the reign of King Rama V to King Rama VII but also captures the sentiments of the period, from the peaceful simplicity of life and curiosity awaken by new encounters.

To promote energy sustainability and provide knowledge about solar power, the exhibition is dedicated to the history, technology, and everyday use of solar energy. On top of informative and practical displays, the audience will also enjoy many learning activities, such as hands-on experiments, art and craft activity for kids, and family fun games.
